WAEC GCE – WASSCE Registration, Timetable and Result 2023
THE WASSCE – Waec GCE registration for 2023/2024 is forthcoming, and we are happy to inform Members of the general public, that the board of the West Africa Examination Board – waec GCE registration will commence very soon for the 2023/2024 academic session.
On this portal, I will show you, the official portal where you can register the WAEC Online Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates (2023).

ALL candidates should take note that the online registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, for the 2023/2024 academic session, will commence from 12 midnight of June to August 2023. Please all candidates that have purchased PIN but were not able to upload their entries before the closing of the WAEC GCE registration, should make use of this opportunity.
All candidates should take note, that the failure to use the already purchased PIN within 48 hours after the registration closing date, will attract the payment of the walk-in differential fee. Please take note, that purchasing new PIN is allowed during the registration period. Anyone who wants to buy a new Waec GCE registration PIN will have to pay the Walk-in fee of N25,500.

What or who is the walk-in candidate’s registration? These are candidates who after the registration closing date, walk into any registration office and asked to be registered. Take note that all interested candidates should approach the nearest WAEC office to register.

SIMPLE STEPS TO WAEC GCE REGISTRATION 2023.
LOGIN
The very first step to take for the GCE waec registration is logging into the institution’s official portal. All interested candidates are required to commence their Registration by enrolling their fingerprints and capturing other personal details using the Biometric Data Capture software.
For registration centres, you can download the Biometric data capture software by Clicking here. Please take note that this software will work on your device, ONLY if you have a fingerprint scanner. However, for candidates who want to register, please visit the nearest Waec GCE Registration Centre with such facilities to scan your fingerprints.
DO make sure that your Surname, First name, and other names are captured using the software, this is essential, to ensure that your details are successfully registered with the National WAEC board.
BIO DATA
This is another essential part of registration. To ensure that your GCE registration is successful, you are required to enter your correct bio-data, including the following details;
- Gender,
- Disability,
- Marital Status,
- Maiden Name (if applicable),
- Date of Birth,
- Nationality,
- State of Origin.
Please take note that your name must not be more than 40 characters, this includes spaces between the names. There MUST be space between your surname, first name and another name. Please select NONE for disability information if you are not disabled. Don’t fill in any disability when you don’t have any.
UPLOADING OF PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH
We all know this is one of the most important parts of successful registration. Please, all candidates are required to upload your scanned passport-size photograph with a white background. I bold the word, white background because other photos with any other colour of the background will be rejected by the institution.
All candidates who are registering for the exam should take note, that the photograph must be a recent one and must be in Joint Portable Exchange (jpg) format. Be informed that the photograph you upload will be printed on your photocard and certificate, this will ensure you have your original WAEC GCE Result. The dimension of the passport must be exactly 275 X 314 pixels. The photograph must not be more than 15 kilobytes and not less than 7 kilobytes in size.

CONTACT INFORMATION.
Another important aspect of the registration is filling in your contact information. Your contact information which is required of you includes the following;
- Telephone,
- Email,
- Residential address,
- Residential city,
- Residential state,
- Postal address,
- City,
- State.
Be aware that the Telephone number is compulsory since it would be used to contact the candidate should the need arise for any questions and you’ll be able to receive important information from GCE WAEC officials.
SELECTION OF PREFERRED EXAMINATION TOWN
This is one of the best parts of the registration. All WAEC GCE aspiring registrants should ensure to commence their registration early, so they will be able to select the state and town they wish to write the examination.
However, the board makes it impossible for students to choose the exact centre in the town/state of their selection. The board of directors will automatically be assigned to you a centre by the system. Please note that you cannot change your examination town after submission.
SUBJECTS SELECTION.
All aspirants of this examination, are already aware that both these subjects are compulsory, and they are;
- English Language,
- Mathematics
Do note that these subjects are automatically selected for you because they are compulsory. You are required to select the other subjects you wish to register for in the examination. Please note that a minimum of Seven (7) and a maximum of Nine (9) subjects are allowed (English Language and Mathematics compulsory as stated above).
DECLARATION
The declaration is your agreement signature to the rules and conduct of the Waec GCE examination. Here, you will be required to read the declaration section carefully and check or tick the checkboxes before submitting your application/registration form. You cannot proceed unless you have done this. You have to agree to their terms and condition, or you shouldn’t/won’t be allowed to register.

SUBMITTING REGISTRATION
Once you have completed the registration form with your correct details and selections, you are required to click the ACCEPT button after which a preview of your details will be displayed. This preview gives you a glimpse of what your application form will look like, once you submit the form. It is of utmost importance that reviews your application at this stage and clicks the EDIT button if you desire to make any modification.
Please note that you should click the SAVE button if you want to save your application and still be able to come back and modify it. However, you are given the option to modify your waec gce registration form 3 times.
If you are sure the details are correct and okay, then proceed and click the SUBMIT button to submit your application. NOTE that you will no longer be able to modify your application once you click the SUBMIT button.
PRINTING OF ADMISSION NOTICE/PHOTO CARD
Once you have successfully completed the application form and submitted the registration form, the system will allocate a centre to you and generate your examination number for you.
It is of utmost importance that you print out the admission notice/photo card. Note that this document will be required before you are allowed into the examination hall.

How to Check 2023 WAEC GCE Result Online [Do-it-Yourself]
The 2023 WAEC GCE Result is out and has been released and published online. All candidates who sat for the waec GCE / WASSCE exams should note that the Wassce results for Private Candidates, 2023 have been released by the Head of National Office, WAECNIGERIA.

All candidates should take note that the 2023 WAEC GCE Results have been successfully uploaded online and it is accessible from the WAEC official result-checking website.

- The very first step is to visit the WAEC result checking portal @ www.waecdirect.org.
- When the portal loads up, proceed and enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. (Take note that this is your 7-Digit center number, which is followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
- proceed and enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2023
- Select the Type of Examination i.e. PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT
- Then insert/type in / Enter the Card Serial Number, which can be found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
- Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card.
- Click Submit and wait for the results window to show up.

Price of 2023 WAEC GCE Scratch Cards & Selling Points
This is very important to know since it is of utmost importance and impossible to register without a scratch card.
All candidates should take note that the price of WAEC GCE Form i.e. the card that would be used for registration, etc. Note that since the introduction of the 2023/2024 WAEC GCE Nov/Dec Registration, we have been receiving emails from different candidates who will be sitting for the examination, regarding the price of the WAEC GCE scratch card and locations where the scratch cards can be purchased.

What is WAEC GCE Scratch Card used For?
The waec gce scratch card comes with a specific code, which is used for registration during normal entry period, before the start of the late registration period. All interested aspirants should note that the WAEC GCE registration scratch cards can be gotten from any of the current and official WAEC offices in Nigeria or the closest Nigerian post office nationwide. - The very first step is to visit the Waec Result Checker Online Portal here – http://ghana.waecdirect.org
- When it opens, you are to insert or type in/enter your Index number.
- Then select the type of Examination you sat for. (e.g. WASSCE).
- Select your Examination Year eg. 2023.
- Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
- Proceed and type in your 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card eg. 012345678912.
- Then proceed and confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to make sure that your examination information is correct.
