2023 Highest JAMB Scorer is FEMALE: Nkechinyere Umeh scored 360/400

Women are taking over, and in one of Nigerian’s biggest examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examinations (JAMB) which plays a vital role in the admission of students into Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education, the highest scorer is a girl named Nkechinyere Umeh.

According to the JAMB board who released the top five (5) candidates in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) with the highest score.

The Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede shared the information at the 2023 policy meeting held in FCT Abuja, where the 2023 JAMB Cut off Marks for admission were officially agreed on, by VC’s, Rectors, Education stakeholders and the JAMB registrar.

According to the announcement shared by the Registrar, Umeh Nkechinyere came top in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations with a cumulative mark of 360 out of a total of 400.

Miss Nkechinyere Umeh hails from Anambra State.

The JAMB registrar further disclosed the names of other top candidates as:

  • Aguele Stephen, 358;
  • Ositade Oluwafemi, 358;
  • Gbolahan Ayinde, 357;
  • John Fulfilment, 356;
  • Chimdubem Ugonna, 355, among others.

The Policy meeting that was held on Sunday, 24th June was where various Educational stakeholders agreed on the Admission cut off marks into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
