We wish to notify all new and returning students of Plateau State University, Bokkos (PLASU) that the university’s administration has made adjustments to the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The revised PLASU academic calendar is designed to span approximately one year. All academic and non-academic activities have been meticulously scheduled within the approved timeframe, as directed by the university’s management.

The Senate of Plateau State University, Bokkos convened an emergency meeting during which they ratified the adjusted academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic sessions as outlined below:
FIRST SEMESTER
- Monday, 4th September, 2023: Online registration begins for new students.
- Monday, 11th September, 2023: Registration opens for returning students.
- Monday, 18th September, 2023: The academic journey begins with the commencement of lectures for all students.
- From 18th to 22nd September, 2023: This period is set aside for late registrations.
- Friday, 22nd September, 2023: A final call as registration closes promptly at 2:00 pm for all students.
- From 4th to 6th October, 2023: A warm welcome awaits fresh students during the orientation period.
- Thursday, 12th October, 2023: A momentous day for freshers as they are officially inducted during the matriculation ceremony.
- Friday, 22nd December, 2023: The last lecture for the first semester wraps up.
- From 23rd December, 2023 to 6th January, 2024: Students get to enjoy a festive Christmas break.
- From 8th to 13th January, 2024: A dedicated week for revision and final preparations as C.A. scores are finalised.
- Monday, 13th January, 2024: Examination fever hits as the first semester examinations commence.
- Wednesday, 31st January, 2024: The final day of the first semester examinations.
- Monday, 12th February, 2024: A chance for practical experience with the start of the Industrial Attachment.
- From 13th to 16th February, 2024: Departmental and Faculty Boards convene to review the first semester examination results.
- Wednesday, 21st February, 2024: The Examination Results Scrutiny Committee meets.
- Tuesday, 5th March, 2024: Senate session held to consider and approve the first semester examination results.
SECOND SEMESTER
- Monday, 26th February, 2024: Second semester lectures get underway.
- Saturday, 1st June, 2024: Lectures conclude for the second semester.
- From 3rd to 8th June, 2024: Another round of revision week and the finalisation of C.A. scores.
- Monday, 10th June, 2024: Onset of the second semester examinations.
- Wednesday, 26th June, 2024: Curtain call for the second semester examinations.
- From 2nd to 5th July, 2024: The focus shifts to the Sessional Results as Departments and Faculty Boards meet.
- From 16th to 19th July, 2024: Examination Results Scrutiny Committee session.
- Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024: The Senate assembles to consider and approve the sessional results, excluding those for the 300 Level SIWES Departments.
- Saturday, 27th July, 2024: Conclusion of the Industrial Attachment period.
- Tuesday, 5th August, 2024: Boards meet to review 300 Level Examinations for SIWES candidates.
- Thursday, 15th August, 2024: The Senate evaluates and approves results for the 300 Level SIWES candidates.
